Now What?

So I am a finally done with my undergraduate education. I came out with decent grades and a sliver of my original sanity. But, now the question is what do I do with myself.

I am looking into graduate schools for the fall. I am nuts I know but believe it or not I miss school. Classes started again and I feel so out of the loop. No new professors, old classmates or million dollar textbooks. How sad is it that I miss it? I don't miss the stress just most everything else. No I take that back, I do NOT miss the bus ride! So here I am out of school and contemplating more school. Some days I feel like it is a great idea and other days I think I must be insane. I am a silly mixed up mess.

So since graduation I have navigated the great holiday dance. Most of my relatives were wonderful and flexible with when we showed up to the festivities. But, it still made for a long holiday. We drove over 250 miles in two days... we were tired. The holidays were awesome.

The new year started out pretty sucky for me. I was sick for a solid week over new years. So this is the first week that I have had time to really stop and think without the aid of cold meds. I am looking into several possible job opportunities but nothing has panned out as of yet. Ryan wants me to take my time and not jump straight from school to some miserable job. I am blessed by the support of my family as I try and decide what the Lord would have me do with my life.

Today, I am enjoying a frigid day at home. The ice from the recent storm was so thick that we cannot get the cars to move. They are de-iced but three inches below the top of the ice. Our driveway is like the worlds most demented slip-and-slide. With these kind of driving conditions Ryan has decided to stay home. Not that he could have gone if he wanted to.....cars are STUCK in the worst way! So, another day at home for us. Thankfully we had warning about the storm and stocked up on food for us, the dog, cats and my bird feeders.

I am off to start a fire in the fireplace (Yeah!)

Finally Finals

I just had my very last lecture of my undergraduate career! Yippee! Now to face the dreaded finals week. I have 3 tests in 3 days, all of them first thing in the morning. The one on Tuesday is going to be the killer.

On a happier note, I graduate a week from tomorrow....I just need to get over the recurring nightmare of falling off the stage from tripping on the robe. I am already resigned to the fact that I will look like a dork. No one, I don't care who they are, can look dashing in those silly mortarboard hats. I wonder why we still have to wear them. My theory is that it is revenge from the previous generations of graduates. If they had to look silly then so should we!

Prayers, good wishes and candy all appreciated.

Amanda

The botany test .....well lets just say that it went. It may be a bit before we get our grades due to a cheating scandal. I have never seen a professor more dissapointed and defeated looking. It made me feel sorry for the poor guy. Evidently someone had been writing the answers on the tables next to the specimens that we were supposed to be identifying. The prof. said that he would know who copied the answers because at least half were wrong! Some people are not even smart enough to cheat correctly. Serves them right!

So I am off tomorrow for another exciting field trip to learn more plant names...This semester is rough because I have been spending so much time on botany that I am falling behind in the other classes I am taking. Argh!

Topic change

What does everyone want for Christmas? I am excited about the holidays for several reasons. Christmas is my favorite holiday! I get to celebrate my first anniversary with Ryan! School will be out!

Topic change back

I have to go get ready for my field trip so have a happy weekend everyone. I miss you all!
